Steph's Baby Shower

I helped host a dear friend's baby shower this past Sunday. It was really fun! We are all very excited to meet Stephanie's little boy!

Custom cupcakes with chocolate filling. They were a huge hit.

I think I've discovered my fallback if teaching doesn't work out --- diaper cakes. I made this one for the shower. So cute!!!!

I feel like Julie Walas

This post is dedicated to my wonderful friend Julie Walas who travels the country with class! Last weekend I traveled to Boston for a teaching conference at Harvard's Graduate School of Education. It was a wonderful trip all around. The weather was perfect and the conference was outstanding! I am so proud to be a teacher!

This street performer is named "Jack the Whipper." Every time I walked around Harvard Square, Jack was putting on a show with his impressive whip skills. He was truly a wonderful performer. Online it says that he is a student at Emerson. Watch out Ryan Seacrest! This guy is talented!

I love that all of the sidewalks are brick!

Henson Family Birthday Celebration

*Thank you Aunt Deanna for posting the pictures.

This weekend we headed up to Roanoke, Virginia to celebrate two special birthdays. Uncle Terry turned 60 and Grandmother turned 80. Lots of aunt, uncles, cousins and second cousins came home to celebrate together!

Uncle Terry got all kinds of Virginia Tech apparel. He looked great!

Here was our family photo shot.

Television and my Life

This is a quick public announcement to say that I am a television-holic and I need help.

As of late, the message at church has been focused on the idea of rest and what we invest our lives in each day. Sadly, as I took a look at my own daily doings, TV is all over the place. Embarrassing yes, but fixable.

The cool thing about realizing that I watch too much television is that by limiting my "TV time," I suddenly have more time to do other things. I'm not as busy as I had thought. This all to say, I hope you don't watch as much TV as I used to each day and regardless, I hope that most of your hours are spent is a way that makes life richer.

More white stuff in Winston

It's snowing again!

Definitely a delay tomorrow; we'll see about the snow day. All I can say is, spring where are you?
